Minutes after the Andhra Pradesh Assembly rejected the Telangana Reorganisation Bill, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Thursday said that the Telangana Bill has not been rejected by the AP Assembly, it was only sent for comments.

Here are some remarks made by Digvijay

  • CM's resolution not a hurdle
  • Bill sent for views not for voting
  • Some Amendments if needed

He said, the bill sent by the President to the Assembly was only for expression of its views not for voting. Diggy opined that, the resolution was not on the bill, but only on the CM's resolution. Anyway it has no constitutional bearing on the procedures of moving the Bill in the Parliament, he asserted.

Digvijay thanked the AP Assembly for giving opinions and added that the Central Cabinet will discuss on it and make some amendments if needed.

The AP congress affairs in-charge stated that there won't be any action against the chief minister as the party gives freedom to all its leaders on this sensitive issue.
