Hyderabad: A kindergarten student, R Yash Raj Kumar, who had been missing since Tuesday evening, was found murdered near Peeran Cheruvu at Narsingi on the city outskirts on Wednesday morning.

The six-year-old boy, a resident of Ghode Ki Khabar neighbourhood under Mangalhat police station limits, was allegedly strangulated to death. The killers also tried to set the body ablaze after dousing it with petrol, said Narsingi Inspector R Sanjay Kumar. According to him, the boy came back home from the school on Tuesday and went out to play with his friends, but did not return. The child's father, Anil Kumar, a salesman at a garment store, lodged a complaint with Mangalhat police station."The motive is not clear, but from the manner in which he had been murdered, it seems like the accused wanted to ensure that he was dead," said the cops.

The partially burnt body was found lying in bushes at Peeran Cheruvu by morning walkers who alerted the police.

With the help of the school identity card found on the spot, the police identified the child and informed his parents. The boy's parents said they had no enmity with anybody. Police arrested two suspects Anup and Vinod, an uncle of the boy, and are probing the murder from various angles.
