What Speaker said..

Hyderabad: On the last day of the Assembly on Thursday Speaker N Manohar stated: “As the time given by honorable President of India to the Andhra Pradesh Legislature for expressing its views on the AP Re-organisation Bill -2013 under Article 3 of the Constitution of India, is coming to an end today, there is a need to conclude the discussion thereon. The AP Re-organization Bill- 2013 was tabled in the House on December 16, 2013. 86 members participated in the discussion in the House for 53 hours. Almost all the members have expressed their views in writing and they form part of the official record.

Proposals for amendments / expression of views in writing by the members on the clauses, numbering 9072 received from the members will also form part of the official record. As agreed to in the Business Advisory Committee meeting, these official records will be submitted to the President as the views of this House. I am in receipt of one government resolution given notice of by the Chief Minister and also ten non – official resolutions, copies of which have been circulated. They are deemed to have been moved. The government resolution given notice of by N Kiran Kumar Reddy is before the House.

Those who are for the resolution please say ‘aye’. Those who are against please say ‘no’, ayes have it, ayes have it, and the motion is carried. As the government resolution is carried, I don’t see any reason to take up the non- official resolution on the same subject. I thank all the members for their cooperation.
