• Urges Seemandhra MLAs to vote to oppose State bifurcation

• Says this will not harm the interests of KVP, TSR and MA Khan

Hyderabad: The rebel Congress leaders seem to have launched a campaign in support of Adala Prabhakar, who forced elections to the Rajya Sabha seats in the State. Former minister JC Diwakar Reddy on Saturday gave a call to all the Seemandhra Congress MLAs who are opposed to the State bifurcation to vote for Prabhakar.

Reddy told media persons that Prabhakar was in the race for the Rajya Sabha in support of united State. He alleged that the party high command had committed a big mistake by not fielding the fourth candidate though it had surplus votes. The former minister said all those who want Samaikyandhra should support Prabhakar as he would be able to make the voice of the Seemandhra people in the Upper House effectively. All the MLAs irrespective of party affiliations should support Prabhakar. Those who could give their first preference vote should do so and others can transfer their second preference vote to ensure the victory of the rebel candidate, he said. Stating that it was difficult to guess who would win the elections, Reddy said that Prabhakar Reddy’s candidature would not harm the interests of Congress members KVP Ramachandra Rao, T Subbirami Reddy and MA Khan. When asked if Prabhakar would get the vote of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, he refused to get dragged into any new controversy. Earlier, Diwakar Reddy had called on the Chief Minister in his camp office and discussed the strategies for the Rajya Sabha polls.
