Akhari dhaka, Telangana pakka, Telangana bill, Seemandhra leaders, GoM meet. It is learnt that various concerns raised by the Seemandhra political leaders have been considered to satisfy the needs of Seemandhra region.

In the last session of the 15th Loksabha, the Telangana bill will be introduced in either house during the next week. The crucial steps are being taken by the UPA government to pass the Telangana bill, by all means. The GoM members met on Tuesday and discussed various aspects pertaining to the amendments in the existing Telangana bill.

It is learnt that various concerns raised by the Seemandhra political leaders have been considered to satisfy the needs of Seemandhra region. After the GoM meet, the union home minister has said that the bill will be put forward for Cabinets approvalon Thursday and said the bill with the consent of the cabinet will be sent to the President of India on Friday. He also said that the bill will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha and Loksabha on February 10 and February 13, respectively. Shinde said only a few amendments were made to the existing bill. Further, he said it was the last ever GoM meet over Telangana issue and said further there will not be any GoM meetings on the very matter. The other GoM member, Gulam Nabi Azad said CMs sit-in for deeksha will not affect the process of introduction of Telangana bill in the parliament.



Despite the fact that the resolution sought by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was approved with the voice vote, GoM has approved the bill with few amendments made to the existing bill. It is learnt that the flood affected areas under the Polavaram project will be given to the residual Andhra Pradesh, based on the amendments made by the GoM.

The bill will be put up for the perusal and approval of the cabinet and if felt necessary, few more amendments will be made, accordingly. The other member of GoM also said that few amendments were made in the prevailing bill.


As far as the amendments are concerned, the following are the amendments made by the GoM:

· A package of Rs10,000cr for the establishment of capital city of Seemandhra

· A special package for the development of Rayalaseema region

· An exemption in the duty fee and taxes for 10 years in Seemandhra region

· An international airport near the capital city of Seemandhra

· Inclusion of flood affected areas under Polavaram project in Seemandhra region except Bhadrachalam city.

Already the GoM was with clarity of the amendments to be made to the existing bill. All ministers except Chidambaram attended the GoM meeting on Tuesday.
