Hyderabad: The State government issued orders on Friday reviving compassionate appointments in the State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC).

It would facilitate employing of the eligible spouses and children of employees died in harness in the APSRTC on compassionate grounds.

The GO Ms No 15 would give rights to RTC to provide compassionate appointments to all the eligible dependents of the employees, who died in harness. There were about 1,120 cases pending since 1998 against sanctioned vacancies.

The scheme of compassionate appointments to the eligible and qualified spouses and children of deceased employee was not a onetime measure with retrospective effect, but it was also to extend the scheme further with prospective effect. The scheme cannot deprive other eligible dependents from further appointments under compassionate grounds as the same was given with retrospective effect.
