Congress will bounce back: KVP, KVP Ramachandra Rao, Rajya Sabha, Gandhi Bhavan. Rao almost burst into tears when he recalled his association with YSR.

Party may face temporary setback in ensuing elections

• Will work for YSR’s dream to see Rahul as PM

• Situation in State would have been different if YSR was alive

Hyderabad: Stating that the Congress workers were disenchanted with the party's situation now, KVP Ramachandra Rao, who was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha, said the party might suffer a setback in the ensuing elections but it would only be a temporary phase. “In the long run it will bounce back,” he said. Ramachandra Rao, who came to Gandhi Bhavan for a felicitation programme organised by the PCC to the newly-elected members of Rajya Sabha on Saturday, turned nostalgic and said the situation in the State would not have been so pathetic had Y S Rajasekhara Reddy been alive.

Rao almost burst into tears when he recalled his association with YSR.

“Gandhi Bhavan is like a temple for me and the Congress party has given me everything. I will die as a Congressman. I will put in all out efforts to see that the dream of YSR to make Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister is fulfilled,” he stated.

Rao alleged that some people had stopped him from entering Gandhi Bhavan after YSR’s death.

The other two Congress winners -- T Subbirami Reddy and MA Khan -- were also present.

Felicitating the newly elected trio, PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana urged the three leaders to use their vast political experience to strengthen the party in the State in the ensuing polls.
