Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy held a series of meetings with party leaders including MPs Lagadapati Rajagopal and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao on Saturday on his next course of action as the Centre had decided to introduce the T Bill in Parliament in its present form.

According to sources, Kiran has decided to hold a few more meetings with party MLAs who are close to him on Monday, when the Vote-on-Account Budget session of the Assembly would commence, before taking a final decision. The Chief Minister is said to have even consulted some MLAs over phone and expressed his desire to quit soon after the Bill is introduced in Parliament. "If the President Pranab Mukherjee clears the T Bill, then I will not stay in office even for a few minutes. I am pinning all my hopes on the President to stall the T process," Kiran was quoted as saying.

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal said that the Chief Minister was considering the option of recommending dissolution of the Assembly to Governor ESL Narasimhan soon after passing the Vote-on-Account budget, thus paving the way for imposition of President's rule in the State.

Asked if Kiran would launch a new party, another MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that he was not aware of Kiran’s moves to launch a new party. “All that I know is that he is undergoing physiotherapy for pain in his shoulder.”
