Tadepalligudem: Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday gave a Clarion Call to the people to decimate the Congress party.

Addressing a mammoth ‘Praja Garjana’ meeting here, he lashed out at Congress president Sonia Gandhi for dividing the people of the State and said “if Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi, Sonia is acting like Italian Godse and destroying the Telugu people’s unity.” He called upon the people to defeat the Congress party.

Naidu asserted that TRS and YSR Congress Party would also be buried along with the Congress.

He reiterated that TRS in Telangana and YSRCP in Seemandhra would ultimately merge with the Congress.

He blasted Sonia Gandhi, saying how an Italian could know the hardships being faced by Telugus. At the same, he claimed that she was scared of Telugus; hence she was resorting to ‘political conspiracies’. He blamed her for the recent violence in the Lok Sabha.

Naidu wondered who empowered her to “play with the lives of Telugus.” He alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was “reduced to a robot in her hands.”

He accused the Congress of resorting to violation of the Constitution during the process of State bifurcation.

He took credit for the all-round development of the State, particularly during the NDA regime, with foresight. Because of ‘collections’ by the TRS leadership and YSR’s corruption, there was no development in Hyderabad, he alleged.

Referring to YSRCP, he alleged ‘corruption’ marked its formation – “It is led by a psycho.” Turning his attention to the TDP, he claimed it was only involved in “heroic struggles, not hatching conspiracies.” He said if voted to power, TDP would get a chance to play a key role at the Centre, and that would help in preparing strategies for fast-paced development of the State.

The TDP chief made innumerable promises to people, including reservations to Kapus, allotment of 12 LPG cylinders, waiving of Dwcra loans, increase in pensions, payment of doles to the jobless, nine hour power supply to farmers, rise in retirement age to 60, regularisation of IKP staff and a permanently solving the Kolleru lake issue. After landing at the Gannavaram airport, Naidu reached Hanuman Junction and offered worship at Abhayanjaneya Swamy temple. He drove a motorcycle along with party activists to enthuse them. Before commencing the address, he garlanded NTR’s statue. Kothapet Legislator Bandaru Satyananda Rao and a large number of Congress leaders/activists joined TDP at the meeting.
