Hyderabad: A total of 90,462 candidates were disqualified in the Village Revenue Officer and Village Revenue Assistant post examination conducted on February 2, the results of which were declared on Saturday. The candidates were rejected as they failed to properly encircle the answers or follow other norms, according to officials.

Out of these candidates, 84,325 wrote the VRO test and the remaining were VRA candidates. The total number of vacancies for VRO posts is 1,657 while that for VRA if 4,305. A total of 13,13,302 candidates applied for the VRO test, and 62786 wrote VRA exam, held at 3684 centres across the state. APPSC released the results in a record time of 20 days.

The posts are district-wise and local candidacy is crucial in making this recruitment. District Collectors have been directed to complete the certificate verification process and also issuance of appointment letters by February 27 itself, according to IYR Krishna Rao, Chief Commissioner of Land Authority.

Chief Secretary P K Mohanty, who declared the results, also released the list of top 20 rankers of both the exams. M Narender Reddy (Chittor) and M Shyam Sunder Reddy (Nalgonda) who scored 100/100 marks in VRO test bagged the first two positions followed by B Yogananda Reddy (Anantapur), B Pradeep Kumar (Karimnagar) and K Lakshminarayana stood at third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.

The top three rankers of VRA test are B Prabhakar (Anantapur), P V V Krishna Rao (East Godavari) and D Ramakrishna (Nizamabad) respectively.
