P K Mohanty to head bifurcation panel
Kiran has returned the CS file twice
Hyderabad: Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) IYR Krishna Rao is likely to be the next Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. As the outgoing incumbent P K Mohanty is not willing for any extension of his tenure, it is understood that the government has decided in favour of Krishna Rao.
The file pertaining to the appointment of the new Chief Secretary was returned by the Care-taker Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, twice in the past two days. Consequently, the file was referred to the Central government for a final decision.
The name of Krishna Rao will get the formal approval of the Governor once the President’s Rule comes into effect, which is likely by Friday evening. Mohanty is likely to head the apex committee that has been tasked with the responsibility of the state bifurcation. The Centre has sounded him in advance in this regard. Though he is reluctant to shoulder any responsibility in the State at this juncture, the Centre has been prevailing upon him in a bid to make the bifurcation process a smooth one.
