Rain, hailstorm hit parts of T

Hyderabad: Heavy rain accompanied by blistering winds, thunder and lightning lashed parts of Warangal and South Telangana districts of Nalgonda and Medak.

In some places rain was accompanied by hailstorm. Showers, lasting half an hour, occurred in Alair, Rajampet and Bhongir areas of Nalgonda district.

Following rain and hailstorm for four hours in Medak and Narsapur areas in the afternoon, many huge trees and electric poles on the Narsapur-Sangareddy main road were uprooted. Several villages went without power supply. Vehicular traffic on the road was stalled for two km for two hours. Tomato, mirchi, maize, sunflower, paddy crops were inundated. Two poultry farms in Gudamgadda village of Narsapur mandal suffered extensive loss. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed Warangal, Mulug and Cheriyal and others areas for half hour. Cotton, chilli and paddy crops in Gudur mandal were damaged due to hailstorm. Traffic on Raghunathpalli-Ghanpur road was paralysed after trees were uprooted.
