Hyderabad: Consequent to the imposition of President's Rule, the Secretariat chambers and peshis of the former Ministers were put under lock on Friday. Almost all the 36 ministers, who continued in the Cabinet of Kiran Kumar Reddy till the end, surrendered their office space allowing the GAD personnel to seal them.

Some of the former Ministers personally supervised shifting of their belongings, computers and furniture from the Secretariat chambers to their private offices elsewhere in the city.

The staff of the departments concerned had a hectic job. Former Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha had his staff fully engaged in the operation. They were found busy for almost the entire day shifting the belongings of the minister away from the Secretariat. P Sivaji, a section officer in Secretariat, said, “The floors in different blocks wore a deserted look with the closing of chambers and absence of visitors in Secretariat.” He said that some of the floors that were exclusively allotted for the Ministers' chambers appeared completely deserted.

No Entry to non-officials in to ‘C’ block

The office of the Chief Public Relations Officer in the ground floor of ‘C’ block was also closed on Friday and the employees of the CPRO office were sent to their parental departments. The scribes, who used to go to CPRO office to enquire about the schedule of the government bosses, are facing tough time in getting information about the State bifurcation process as all the officials remained tight-lipped, citing Governor’s rule

Guv to review finance dept

Governor E S L Narasimhan would review the affairs of finance department on Saturday with the department officials in Raj Bhavan. Sources said that the government wanted to review the department in detail on the available finances, revenue collections and financial position of the two States after bifurcation. Chief Secretary PK Mohanty met the Governor on Friday and apprised him of the decisions taken during the meeting with Kamalanathan committee, who has been looking into the employees’ division.
