Tollywood hero in drug trade, Telugu film actor and a Nigerian in Drug Case. A budding Telugu film actor and a Nigerian were arrested on Monday by the East Zone police on charges of drug trafficking near Jubilee Hills Checkpost after 15 grams of cocaine was seized from them.

Hyderabad: A budding Telugu film actor and a Nigerian were arrested on Monday by the East Zone police on charges of drug trafficking near Jubilee Hills Checkpost after 15 grams of cocaine was seized from them. Actor Nanduri Uday and Rotimi Olusola Kehindi alias Sola, 29, a Nigerian drug peddler were nabbed around 11.30 am when they were allegedly transacting deal, they said.

“Rotimi, who came to India on a business visa, developed local contacts and indulged in trafficking of drugs in Bangalore and Hyderabad after procuring drugs from one Hakeem, a Sudanese national residing in Delhi,” said B Limba Reddy, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner Task Force, Hyderabad.

The contraband was procured for Rs 1,000 per gram and sold for Rs 3,000 per gram depending on the need of the customer, the official said, adding "he (Nigerian) met Uday Kiran alias Bobby and supplied him the drugs."

The 29-year-old actor, a native of Kakinada, who acted in movies like ‘Good Morning’, ‘Facebook,’ 'Rakshakulu', 'Yuvarajyam,' and ‘Parare’ movies, was consuming drugs ever since his films bombed at the box office, police sources said. He was not only consuming it but was also selling drugs. Police is now analyzing the call data of Uday's mobile to find out whoelse from the cine industry is involved in the drug racket. Earlier, Ravi Teja's brothers and a couple of cine celebrities were caught for involvement in drug racket.
