Tirupati: Congress leaders including party election campaign in-charge K Chiranjeevi, PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy and a host of others told the people of Seemandhra not to lose heart at the division of the state though it is very painful, as it has thrown open a vast opportunity and scope for every one more so to the youth to prosper in the coming days.

Congress leaders one after another vowed to make residuary Andhra Pradesh into a Navyandhra Pradesh and Swarnadhra Pradesh, if Congress is voted to power both in the state and in the centre. They also lashed at those deserted the party, after enjoying positions.

Chiranjeevi made a special appeal to his fans to see that the Congress comes to power and to enable him to fulfill the confidence the party high command including Sonia Gandhi reposed on him and fulfill the herculean task assigned to him by the party to rejuvenate the party at this critical hour, infusing new blood and vigor to get back the past glory.PCC president Raghuveera in his hard hitting speech cited the pathetic position of the party in Chittoor district. He said that the party was completely side lined where it ruled the roost once. Targeting Kiran Kumar Reddy, he said, is it the price the party deserve for making you the Chief Minister and for giving you various position like MLA, Chief whip, Speaker. He lambasted without naming the MLAs who left the party and also lashed out at the Galla Arunakumari for deserting the party when it badly needed their support. Raghuveera urged the party activists to take up the responsibility of reaching every home with the booklet and pamphlets brought by the party giving blow by blow account the circumstance that forced the party at `knife point’ to agree for division. Union minister Panabaka Lakshmi, Pallam Raju, JD Seelam, TTD chairman K Bapiraju also spoke at the meet presided over by DCC president Venugopal Reddy.
