Hyderabad: The Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) has released its first list of its candidates for three Lok Sabha and five assembly constituencies in Telangana.

According to party secretary of the Telangana unit, Tammineni Veerbhadram, Sameena Afroz is the party candidate for Khammam Lok Sabha seat, while N Narasimha Reddy will contest from Nalgonda parliamentary constituency. The party has named C Seetaramulu as its candidate for Bhongir Lok Sabha seat. The CPM had won Khammam seat in 1996. Nalgonda has been a stronghold of the CPI, which won the seat five times. J Ranga Reddy will seek re-election from Miryalguda constituency in Nalgonda district. He was the only CPM leader to get elected in 2009 elections in the entire Andhra Pradesh.

The other four candidates are Sunnam Rajaiah from Bhadrachalam, Lingal Kamalraj fromMadira, Potineni Sudershan Rao from Paler and Pagadala Yadaiah from Ibrahimpatnam.Veerabhadram said that CPM has decided to go it alone in the general elections. He said if the CPI enters into a poll tie-up with Congress party, then the CPM will not have any understanding even with them. However, it may consider alliance with TDP if the later keeps away from BJP. This time the party is contemplating to contest for four Lok Sabha and 17 assembly seats.
