Hyderabad: Governor ESL Narasimhan directed the officials of State Reorganisation Committee (SRC) to prepare a clear and viable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy for the proposed two States -- Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh -- by which tangible benefits in health and education sectors would reach the people.

Reviewing the CSR policy with the officials at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday, Narasimhan said that necessary measures should be taken for the best implementation of CSR policy for the progress and sustainable development of two States.

Earlier, the officers from SRC submitted a presentation before the Governor on various issues related to special development package and incentives under Higher Education and medical institutions and new infrastructure facilities to be provided in the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh as per provisions of the Act.

They also presented a detailed report on the facilities to be provided under the special category State status in comparison with the other State’s ongoing packages, identification of backward areas and also special packages sanctioned to other States like Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and other regions in the country.

Principal Secretary, Higher Education Ajay Mishra briefed the Governor about the issues pertaining to Education sector under Schedule 13. The officials informed that setting up of new universities, a hospital on the lines of AIIMS, a 4,000 MW NTPC plant, metro rail project for Vizag, Vijayawada- Guntur-Tenali and a new railway zone in the residuary Andhra Pradesh were envisaged under the Act.

Chief Secretary P K Mohanty, Special Chief Secretary to Governor, N Ramesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary for Planning SP Tucker, Principal Secretary for Finance PV Ramesh, and K Ramakrishna Rao from the States Reorganization Cell attended the review meeting.
