New Delhi: Kavuri Sambasiva Rao had offered resignation on Thursday. It is learnt that dissent over the modus operandi opted by the Congress Party to bifurcate the state, Kavuri has offered resignation. He offered resignation to both ministry as well as the party. He broke his 30yrs affiliation with the Congress Party.
He was elected for Lok Sabha for the first time in 1984 and clutched successful victories in 1989, 1998, 2004 and 2009 on Congress Party ticket. After a very long innings, he was given the post of a Union Minister on June 17, 2013. He tried to join TDP after the state bifurcation. However, he was opposed by the local TDP leaders of West Godavari district. So, now news making rounds that he will join BJP.
