Hyderabad: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday arrested seven brokers and four candidates in connection with alleged irregularities in the PG Medical Entrance Test (PGMET) conducted by Vijayawada-based Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, and seized incriminating material to prove the guilty of the accused.

The brokers have been identified as Ch Bhushan Reddy, a native of Produtur, Paulson belongs to Davangere, Karnataka, Kistappa of Guntakal, Chakravarthy of Narsaraopet, Vijay, a native of Bengaluru, Abhimanyu and Patrik.

The candidates who came under police scanner were identified as P Bharath Kumar, Ch Rama Rao, Ch Sai Praneeth and K Ramana.

According to CID sleuths, Ch Bhushan Reddy started a consultancy firm Balaji Career Solutions at Lakdikapul in 2011 and developed contacts with brokers like V Suresh of Bengaluru, Anuj Singh of Mumbai, Dhanunjaya Singh of Bihar and Ameer Ahmed of Karnataka. In collusion with them, he was able to leak the question papers of AP PGMET-2014.

Paulson is one of the conspirators in getting the question paper leaked. Through his agents and fellow brokers Kistappa and Chakravarthy, he gave the same to candidates P Bharath Kumar, Ch Sai Praneeth and K Ramana.

Kistappa and Chakravarthy tutored the candidates and they secured ranks 7, 15 and 26 respectively, said the officials.

Vijay, Abhimanyu and Patrik are the assistants of Anuj Singh and Ameer Ahmed and helped them in picking up the candidates and arranging all facilities at the tutor points, the CID officials said.

The investigating agency further revealed that the question paper was leaked from Manipal Printing Technologies Limited in Karnataka and exuded confidence that the other absconding persons will be nabbed soon.
