Guntur: Dalits Hold up District Collector Suresh Kumar. On Monday, on the eve of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 123rd birth anniversary, the Guntur collector was about to pay homage to the statue of Ambedkar located near lodge centre in Guntur.
Hyderabad: On Monday, on the eve of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 123rd birth anniversary, the Guntur collector was about to pay homage to the statue of Ambedkar located near lodge centre in Guntur. Many officials including the collector of the district Suresh Kumar were ready to pay the tributes.
By the time the collector reached the spot, already there were few political leaders and members of Dalit organisations present over there. As the place was over crowded, the collector ordered his staff to get a way for him. The fuming Dalit leaders surrounded the car of the collector to trouble him, proclaiming that they have been waiting for the collector who in turned humiliated them. They demanded the collector as well as RDO of Guntur to make an apology to them. The collector rushed away from the spot once the protestors were taken away by the security staff.
