Tammineni demands change in Polavaram design

Hyderabad: Tammineni Veerabhadram, the state convener of Telangana CPM Party, has demanded that the design of Polavaram irrigation project should be changed. He expressed his heartache that if the design was not changed before the construction, lakhs of tribal people would become homeless.

Further, he said that there was a need to appoint a Joint Action Committee so as to bring out a new design for Polavaram project for its execution. He said despite the fact they have been busy with ongoing elections, the CPM party has been striving hard for the design change.

Also, he said that the process would be intensified once the elections are concluded. He, however, maintained that their fight was not against Andhra people. He said the desires of Seemandhra people could also be fulfilled by a design change.
