CBI court summons Sabitha. The Special Court for CBI cases on Monday issued summons to P Sabitha Indra Reddy, the former Home Minister, and B Kripanandam, a former Secretary (Mining), seeking their appearance in person on June 4.

Hyderabad: The Special Court for CBI cases on Monday issued summons to P Sabitha Indra Reddy, the former Home Minister, and B Kripanandam, a former Secretary (Mining), seeking their appearance in person on June 4.
The court took into consideration the chargesheet filed against the two on April 9, naming them as A9 and A8 respectively in the illegal mining case involving the jailed former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy owned Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC).
The CBI had alleged that they gave preferential treatment to OMC while sanctioning its proposals for mining leases. The name of Sabita figured initially as one of the witnesses in the case. Another IAS officer Y Srilakshmi was also one of the accused in the case besides the mining baron Gali Janarrdhan Reddy and his brother-in-law B V Srinivas Reddy.
