Hyderabad: Warangal district has been worst affected with the ill-timed and unanticipated rains since Thursday evening. The grain stocks at Warangal, Jangaon, Parakala market yards have been reduced to nothing in the rains.

The framers of Warangal district have been found in sniffle with this startling contingency. The victimised farmers claim that it was due to the lack of adequate blocking measures undertaken by the administration of the market yard; such a loss was incurred to them. The hailstorms have been a major cause of concern for the agrarian societies at all places in the entire Telangana.

The mango framers of Jagaon have seen a heavy loss due to the hailstorms in the district. Approximately 15,000 bags of grain were spoiled at Jangaon market yard alone. In a similar way 5,000 bags of grain were drowned in water at Narsampet market yard. The officials have so far not taken any measures for the assessment of the crop loss in the district. Unofficially, the loss incurred is expected to be Rs 200cr in Warangal district alone.
