New Railway Zone For Seemandhra Shortly. The tenders for forming a new and separate Railway zone for Seemandhra are in full sway, though the appointed day for the formation of new state turns to be June 2.

Hyderabad: The tenders for forming a new and separate Railway zone for Seemandhra are in full sway, though the appointed day for the formation of new state turns to be June 2.
If the new railway zone is figured then it will be the 18th Railway zone in India. There were only 9 zones that Indian Railways had till 2003. But, later seven more were added during 2003 – 2013. The latest turns to be Kolkatta Metro, the 17th Railway zone in the series.
This new development will take place only after the existing South Central Railway Zone (SCR) is reorganised. To this effect, reportedly, the Union Government has already taken a final call and has passed the information to the Railway Board to have the paper works done for the changes.
According to sources, the new Railway zone for Seemandhra will be operational initially at Secunderabad till the time all the other work is done. Later, it may either be shifted to Vijayawada or Visakhapatnam, added sources.
