Telangana: New state to have new vehicle registration number
Telangana: New State to Have New Vehicle Registration Number. According to reports, the new vehicles purchased after June this year will possibly have new Registration numbers of the new state – Telangana.
Hyderabad: According to reports, the new vehicles purchased after June this year will possibly have new Registration numbers of the new state – Telangana. It is learnt that most probably, the existing State code for the Registration Numbers AP will be replaced by a new code like TG, which has already went viral during the Telangana agitation period.
It is worth mentioning here that it is customary to have the set of two numerical after the state code that as a rule denotes the districts. At present, in the undivided state there were 38 codes in 23 districts. The cities like Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and few places in Ranga Reddy district and others had multiple codes.
It is learnt that over a period of time, the existing district codes may also be changed with a subsequent allocation of new number to the existing old vehicles. It is said that the old vehicles will continue to have the old numbers for time being. There is no full clarity on this matter as of now. Nevertheless, it will be the ruling govt that would decide all these matters. As of now, confusion continues to prevail!!
