Hyderabad: On Thursday afternoon, two RTC buses collided with each other between Tallada and Enkur in Khammam district. In this accident, as many as 8 passengers sustained stern injuries. The victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital for the treatment. A case has been booked and the investigations are on. More details are awaited.

Nowadays, the RTC buses which have been otherwise known for safety are also involved in so many accidents. In the recent days, as many as 7 such accidents have come into the light. It is worth recollecting that on last Friday morning also, an RTC bus was thumped by a lorry in a head-on collision happened on the Rajiv Highway at Kukunuripalli of Kondapaka mandal in Medak district. In this accident, while two persons died on the spot, 15 others sustained insensitive injuries. Also, in another accident happened early on last Saturday, an RTC bus and a lorry were collided with each other at Rangampet in East Godavari district. In this accident, as many as 25 passengers have been sternly injured.

These days mishaps have been on a rise. Let it be a mishap on the road or otherwise, the main reason turns to be the reckless attitude of the people. There is a need to exact the situation so as to prevent the accidents. Surely, if timely preventive measures would have been adopted, most of the accidents could have been avoided. The people need to be educated. Better and wide publicity through the mass media channels may be opted for the same. Entertainment-Education concepts are most befitting in this case and will surely prove effective.
