Tirumala: The divine name of Lord Bhakta Hanuman reverberated in the Holy Hills of Tirumala on the occasion of annual Salakatla ‘Hanumantha jayanti’ celebrations on Friday. Temple priests performed special puja, including ‘Panchamrith Abhishekam’ with milk, curd, honey, coconut water and sandal paste to the Anjaneya Swamy located in front of the main temple, followed by ‘archana’, ‘arathi’, ‘naivedyam’.

Special pujas were also performed to the Konerugattu Anjaneya Swamy located opposite Bhuvaraha Swamy temple at around 3 pm. Special puja was also performed to the 60-foot Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy at the seventh mile on the first ghat road. The TTD made elaborate arrangements, including free transportation bus facility for local residents and pilgrims from Tirumala to the seventh mile and back from 11 am to 6 pm.

K Bapiraju, TTD chairman, took part in Hanuman jayanti at the famous Japali theertham, about 5 km from Tirumala main temple in dense forests of Seshachalam. He presented silk vastrams to the presiding deity of Japali Hanuman. Earlier, Raju and TTD officials were accorded a warm welcome by Arjun Das Swamiji of Hathiramji Mutt.

After the darshan, Bapiraju told the media that ‘Lord Anjaneya is a role model to all devotees as he pioneered “Sharanagati Prapatti” being an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. He is an inspiration to the devotee fraternity for selfless devotion and sacrifice. We all should follow his divine path to attain salvation’. Temple Peishkar Selvam, Parupattedar Naik and others were present. Devotees throng temples Around two lakh devotees thronged the Hanuman temple on Friday with ‘deekshamala’ at Kondagattu, near Muthyampet, in Malyala mandal of Karimnagar district. They concluded the ‘deeksha’ by taking bath in near-by tank. Thousands of devotees visited the Seetharamachandra Swamy temple, Bhadrachalam, wearing Hanuman ‘mala’. They bathed in the temple tank to mark the completion of 41-day ‘deeksha’.
