IYR to be Chief Secretary of AP
Hyderabad: IYR to be Chief Secretary of AP, AP Chief Minister-designate N Chandrababu Naidu has intensified his efforts to finalise his core team of officers.

Hyderabad: With the Appointed Day (June 2) fast approaching, AP Chief Minister-designate N Chandrababu Naidu has intensified his efforts to finalise his core team of officers.
Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) I Y R Krishna Rao, who had missed the opportunity of becoming the last Chief Secretary of the united Andhra Pradesh, will now be the first Chief Secretary of the residuary State of AP. Naidu on Saturday took Rao to Governor ESL Narsimhan and introduced him. Naidu is learnt to have conveyed the names of the officers of his choice who would form the main team to run the administration in the new government. Formal orders with regard to the appointment of Rao are likely to be issued by the Centre soon to enable him to take charge as the chief secretary of truncated Andhra Pradesh State from June 2. Rao, a 1979 batch IAS officer, had held many key posts in Revenue, Finance, Industries and Agriculture departments. He also served as TTD EO.
It is learnt that Naidu has zeroed in on the name of Jasti Venkata Ramudu, who is the Director General of Police (Greyhounds) to be the first Director General of Police (DGP). Ramudu is a 1981 batch officer. If Ramudu is made the DGP, then the present DGP B Prasada Rao could be appointed as Principal Secretary (Home) in the Naidu’s government in AP.
Similarly, Ajay Prakash Sawhney’s name is under consideration for the post of Principal Secretary in the CMO and IPS officer Dwarka Tirumala Rao is likely to be the Intelligence Chief. There is also speculation that Director of the SPG K Durgaprasad may be called back from Delhi to join Naidu’s select officers in the police department. It is also speculated that Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates could be merged and if this materializes, C V Anand would be the Chief Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Police Commissionerate.
There would be four police commissioners under the proposed Greater Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and under each police commissioner there would be around 25 police stations. Sources further say that other officials who are tipped to be for important posts in Naidu’s new government are A Giridhar, a 1988 batch IAS officer who was Transport Commissioner in the past, G Sai Prasad, a 1991 batch IAS officer who was the collector of Chittoor, and Kurnool, joint MD of APSRTC and APTransco during Naidu's regime.
