New Delhi: D Srinivas, the former APCC president, on Wednesday said that he informed Sonia Gandhi that the Congress Party could have won the elections, if Telangana could have been given before six months. Reportedly, he informed Sonia that though the people believe that it was due to the tireless effort of Sonia Gandhi that Telangana has been realised, but they also believed in KCR who succeeded in moulding the people that it was due to the unending battle for Telangana by him, Telangana was realised.

DS addressed the media, after he called on Sonia Gandhi and Digvijay Singh, at AP Bhavan in New Delhi, on Wednesday. He said that during their discussions they have conferred about the reasons for their failure in the polls-2014 and the remedies to be undertaken for the same. It was due to KCR and the agitation undertaken by TRS Party that the party has grabbed a victory in the polls, added DS. Further, he agreed that Congress party failed to gain the confidence of the settlers that they would safeguard them at all places including Hyderabad.
