Guntur: District Collector S Suresh Kumar and other senior officials visited the ‘Yuva Garjana’ site opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University between Guntur and Vijayawada on Saturday. He was accompanied by IG P V Sunil Kumar and joint collector Vivek Yadav and other officials from the Revenue and Police departments. Chief Minister-designate N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to take the oath of office in secrecy here in the presence of party workers and several VIPs. Naidu had addressed the yuva garjana here in 2008, which was a big success.

The party wanted to have the swearing-in here after its thumping victory in the elections. The officials discussed the security arrangements at the ground and the traffic management for the event. As the venue is located between the Vijayawada-Guntur railway line on one side and the Chennai-Kolkata national highway on the other, the officials spent more time on discussing the traffic diversion on the highway to minimise inconvenience to people attending the swearing- in. They decided to provide parking on both sides of the sprawling 70-acre land.

The officials also inspected the guest house, administrative block and the Center for Distance Education located on the ANU for temporary accommodation of VIPs, including Naidu and Governor E S L Narasimhan. They are expected to reach the venue from the Gannavaram airport by road. The guest house and other buildings have been kept ready if they want to use them. Two MPs from Guntur district Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Galla Jayadev, their counterparts from Krishna, Konakalla Narayana Rao and Kesineni Srinivas, besides the neighbouring Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao have been entrusted with the task of monitoring the arrangements at the venue and mobilising the cadre.
