Visakhapatnam: All is set ready for the first cabinet meeting of the Andhra Pradesh state scheduled for Thursday. Andhra University premises have been chosen as the venue for the same. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, would attend the meeting after having Lord Simhadri Appanna’s darshan. The Cabinet meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and would reportedly last for 2 hours. Most of the crucial issues are likely to be discussed during the said meeting. Krishna Rao, the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, is likely to brief the details of the condition of the residuary Andhra Pradesh to all the ministers. Later, the discussion is likely to be on the debts and assets status of the state. Also, it is learnt that the guidelines will be issued to all the ministers by Chandrababu Naidu in the capacity of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, the main discussion on Thursday’s meeting will be focussed on those five files cleared by Chandrababu Naidu at the swearing-in podium at Guntur, on last Sunday. Ganta Srinivas Rao, one of the ministers in the Naidu’s cabinet, said that they would discuss on the matter of development of the capital city as well as the development of all 13 districts of residuary Andhra Pradesh. He said that they would discuss on the matter of how to go about for the implementation of the promises made during election campaigning.

Approval of the Rs 5L ex gratia announced to the victims of Beas mishap would also be taken up in the Thursday meeting of the Andhra Pradesh state cabinet. According to sources, it has been Naidu’s strategy to hold meetings at various places in the residuary Andhra Pradesh so as to bring a feeling among the people of the state that Naidu has not neglected any place by prioritising only few places.
