Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India has issued a notification for the filling up of the 4 vacant seats of Rajya Sabha on Monday. There are 2 vacant seats from Odisha, while one vacancy each from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu quota. The last date for filing the nominations would be June 23, while the withdrawal of nominations is permitted until June 26. The elections for the mentioned 4 RS seats will be held on July 3. The entire process will be completed by July 5, added sources.

From the other end, Naraendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, is reportedly very keen to get Pawan Kalyan a Rajya Sabha Seat. Though news made rounds that Pawan Kalyan would be sent to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka state’s quota, later, reportedly it was decided to send PawanKalyan to RS from Andhra Pradesh that too in place of Nedurumalli Janaradhana Reddy.

According to sources, many eminent leaders have eyes on the Rajya Sabha seat that has become vacant with the sad demise of Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy. It is not sure whether the candidature of Pawan Kalyan would be welcomed by Naidu by the leaders of TDP or not. Nevertheless, the existing relationship between Naidu andPawan would likely get RS for Pawan Kalyan, according to political analysts.
