Group of 15 Konaseema Youths Trapped in IraqRajahmundry (East Godavari):
Fifteen youths, who went to Iraq for livelihood, are in the grip of fear for the last three days and taking shelter in a remote place. The parents of the victims are a worried lot as they received a phone call from one of the youths on Friday. Pemmadi Srinu, who went along with 14 others to Iraq about 40 days ago, was stranded in violence-affected areas. He managed to come out of their room on Friday morning and called his parents in the night.

Parents of Pemmadi Srinu said that all the 15 youths were sent through an agent, Bhaskar Reddy of Ravulapalem in the district, with an assured job in a multi-national soft drinks bottling unit. The other 14 include Gadi Suryaprakash, Kollu Naresh, Kollu Satyanarayana, Koppadi Veera Venkata Satyanaryana, Valapudasu Bujjibabu, Vaggu Ganapati, Mylu Eswararao, Bommidi Nagaraju, Koppadi Prasad, Koppadi Trimurthulu, Illimsi Durgarao, Gullanka Venkatrao and Koppadi Dharmaraju.
All the youths belong to the fishermen community.

The parents of Koppadi Dharmaraju said that though they were confident that the youths would return safely, the events being shown in all TV channels about Iraq war were leading them to sleepless nights. They appealed to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Home Minister N China Rajappa to intervene in this matter and bring all the 15 safely to their village.
