Hyderabad: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of opposition in the Andhra Pradesh state assembly, on Saturday said that there was nothing new in the governor’s speech. He said that the governor has touched only those issues which were present in the Telugu Desam Party’s election manifesto.

It is worth recollecting that on the third day of Andhra Pradesh state assembly session, on Saturday, ESL Narasimhan, the common governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, addressed both houses and congratulated all the MLAs for winning the polls. He began his speech in Telugu and said that he considers serving the people was the ultimate destiny.

ESL said that the way Andhra Pradesh (erstwhile) state was bifurcated has strongly hit the feelings of Telugu people. He said that in life, one needs to face the crises while stating that the state has lost many opportunities in the last one decade.

Narasimhan said that Polavaram Project should be declared as a national project. He said the centre has transferred 7 mandals of Bhadrachalam division in Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh. The retirement age has been increased to 60 from 58, Said Narasimhan. He said a special budget will be implemented for the BCs, apart from implementing the SC/ST sub plan. More or less the governor’s speech included all those issues put in the election manifesto of Telugu Desam Party.
