Hyderabad: Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday, inside the state assembly hall said that it was dreadful that 24 students of Vignan Jyothi students lost their lives in Beas River Tragedy in Himachal Pradesh. He said that an ex gratia of Rs 5L has been announced to the families of victimised students. Further, he said that as soon as he learnt of this tragedy, he has sent ministers and officials to the spot. The state assembly has mourned for 2 minutes in this milieu. Also, the house grieved for the MLAs who died recently.

It is worth recollecting that tragedy struck 24 engineering students from Hyderabad when they were off to an excursion in Manali. A tourist visit became a dead trap for the young students from Hyderabad on June 8.At least 24 students from an engineering college in Hyderabad drowned in the Beas River near Thalot village, Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.

By now, as many as 17 dead bodies could have been traced out from the Beas River and more 7 dead bodies are yet to be retrieved.
