Naidu urged Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to expedite Special Category State status as well as implementation of various provisions built into the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. He also wanted speedy allocation of IAS and IPS officers. Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said the decision on location of new capital essentially vests with the AP government. AP would get a fair share of the 100 Smart Cities plan, he assured. Naidu pleaded for Metro Rail between Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali and Vishakhapatnam Metro.

Naidu discussed the contentious issues of Polavaram Project and water-sharing issues in his talks with Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharathi. In his discussions with HRD Minister Smriti Irani, he sought speedy allotment of the 11 national institutions promised for the AP.

Naidu also met Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the gas allocation from the KG Basin. Petroleum University, an LNG terminal and a greenfield refinery also figured in the discussions. In his meeting with Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, the CM sought setting up of new railway zone in Andhra Pradesh.
