Guntur: Tension prevailed at Guntur railway station on Sunday as passengers and candidates appearing for the examination conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for Secunderabad region travelling in Howrah –Secunderabad Falknuma Express clashed.

Thousands of students from Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand boarded the train to appear for Railway Recruitment Board exam in Secunderabad region which include Vijayawada, Guntur and Secunderabad. The passengers faced a lot of inconvenience as three to four hundred candidates boarded in each compartment. The students occupied reserved seats and the passengers have complained against the illegal occupation to the RPF personnel.

After the situation went beyond control, RPF personnel along with civil police stopped the train at Guntur and evicted the students who were illegally travelling in reserved compartments. Later, the evicted students were asked to board another train in Vijayawada. The north Indian students appeared for the examination at the centres in Secunderabad, Guntur and Vijayawada.
