Town DSP Sathibabu told the media that the police had nabbed the trio after keeping a special vigil on their movements. The gang was involved in stealing 53 bikes here, he said. Those arrested were Govinda Raju of Chintalapudi, Jagadish and Prasad. While Raju was running a printing press earlier, his two associates were bike mechanics. The police said Raju took to crime after suffering loss in the running of the press and failed business of financing bikes. The three used to target busy areas in the town and lift motorcycles. After getting the stolen bikes serviced, they used to sell them.
