Srikakulam: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday threatened the Telugu Desam Government with an agitation along with farmers on loan waiver, after waiting for a month to allow things to become clear.

Talking to the media on the second day of the district tour, he claimed that it was usual for banks/RBI to reschedule loans of farmers who suffered crop loss, as also in cases of drought and natural calamities. He criticised TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for claiming credit in getting the loans rescheduled, pointing out that he had failed to give a clear picture after holding out poll promise of waiving them on assuming power.

Jagan claimed that banks were exerting pressure on the Dwacra women to repay their loans; yet the government remained silent. He wondered why a cheating case should not be registered against Naidu, as is done in the case of a pickpocket. He accused the AP CM of going back on the assurance, demanding public apology.
