NHRC takes Kakinada Greenfield School incident as Suo-Motu case

It is evident that the Principal T Srinivasa Rao and Correspondent KV Rao have inhumanly beaten the blind students P Sai (12), P Surendera (12) and Joseph on July 18 the video of which was released to media on July 21. The school that is situated at Sarpavaram junction in Kakinada was attacked by the parents and relatives of the students and the timely intervention of Police could avert major damage. The District Collector Neethu Prasad who visited the school directed the District Educational Officer Srinivas Reddy to inquire into the incident and submit a report. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu too expressed shock over it and directed the administration to take steps to prevent such incidents in future. Police have arrested the duo and a case was registered against them.

TDP leader B Satyanarayana is the chairman of the School. Kakinada Rural MLA P Ananta Lakshmi, District Collector Neetu Prasad, DSP Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy rushed to the school to have first-hand information. The Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa telephoned the SP and directed to take action.
