Andhra Pradesh government on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to complete the EAMCET counselling process by August 31 in accordance with the Supreme Court order. Earlier in the day, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the decision of the apex court and said efforts should be made for the smooth conduct of admission process.

Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu and adviser to government of AP (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar on Monday expressed the hope that the Telangana government would respect the decision of the apex Court.

Kishore Babu said Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao was unnecessarily creating a controversy on the nativity issue. “KCR wants to take political advantage by delaying the EAMCET admission process. Let him play politics but he should not do in the case of students, '' the Minister said. The cut off date 1956 set by him was irrational and unethical, he said.

Parakala Prabhakar said the Telangana government had no choice but to respect the apex court's decision. He clarified that the AP government had never considered fee reimbursement as burden.
