Yes, if Golconda Fort is the right choice for Telangana, indubitably, Konda Reddy Buruju in Kurnool is the right Choice for the official state celebrations of Independence Day in Andhra Pradesh.

Kurnool aptly known as the Gateway to Rayalaseema was the capital of Andhra state before the emergence of Andhra Pradesh on November 1, 1956. Kurnool served as the capital of Andhra State from October 1, 1953 until October 31, 1956. The people of this region have been demanding to make Kurnool as the capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh. Nevertheless, the chances for the same are not bright, according to many analysts, though no official statement has come from the government sources to this effect, so far. By holding the official state level celebrations of the Independence Day, certainly, the morale of the Rayalaseema people will get boosted up in this milieu.
