The recent decision of the Reserve Bank of India allows the rescheduling of loan only in 100 mandals of 3 districts in Telangana there by providing a respite up to Rs4000 Cr. Nevertheless, the remaining amount has to be borne by the state government to fulfil its promise made to the farmers. Towards the same, the Telangana state government needs more Rs 15000 Cr.

Reportedly, the Telangana state government is planning to acquire funds for remaining Rs 15000cr by auctioning some of the unused government lands in the state. It is said that the 24 acres of prime land belonging to DBR Mills at Lower Tank Bund will be the first to go to the auction and will help the government raise Rs one thousand crore from its sale.

In a similar vein, the Andhra Pradesh state government is looking out for the auction of Red Sanders being seized from various smuggling agencies. Whatsoever may be the case, it seems that both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states have been determined to waive the crop loan by hook or crook.
