WTF meet in Vijayawada from tomorrow, The World Telugu Federation (WTF) would hold two-day conference on Telugu literature at Siddhartha College here from August 17.
Vijayawada: The World Telugu Federation (WTF) would hold two-day conference on Telugu literature at Siddhartha College here from August 17. Speaking to media persons here, the WTF representative and former vice-chancellor of Potti Sriramulu Telugu Univeristy, Prof Avula Manjulatha, said that the conference is being organised in association with Mummaneni Subba Rao Siddhartha Kalapeetham for two days. Prominent academicians and experts in Telugu from different places would speak on the Telugu language and literature of different times, she said.
She said that the WTF had been working to promote Telugu language and helping the Telugu people to recognise the importance of the language. She said similar conferences were held at Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, and other places, catering to the language requirements of people. The WTF was also organising language classes for the people living outside Andhra Pradesh to keep in touch with their mother tongue, she said.
The WTF is presently publishing a tri-monthly magazine, "Telugu Jagathi" to promote the language and would make it bi-monthly soon. Prof Manjulatha wanted the Telugu loving people to make the conference a success. The Siddhartha Women's College principal, Dr T Vijayalakshmi was also present.
