Nellore: Huge Quantity of Rice Seized. Late on Sunday night, the police have seized as many as 46 Lorries carrying rice to Tamil Nadu, in Nellore district. Of these 46 Lorries, 40 Lorries were caught red-handed at Manubolu and remaining 6 Lorries were seized at Venkatachalam.
Late on Sunday night, the police have seized as many as 46 Lorries carrying rice to Tamil Nadu, in Nellore district. Of these 46 Lorries, 40 Lorries were caught red-handed at Manubolu and remaining 6 Lorries were seized at Venkatachalam. All these Lorries have been seized and taken to the Munubolu police station. It is suspected that it is the ration rice that was taken to Tamil Nadu. More details in the matter are awaited.
It may be recalled that exactly a month before, at Mundruvaripalem of Shavalyapruram Mandal in Guntur district, the villagers caught up the illegal transportation of the ration rice and handed over the team and transport to the in charge RI. The local youth turned down the attempt made by the local ration dealer in his attempt of the illegal transportation of the 14 quintal ration rice and handed over them to the revenue officials. The in charge RI reached the spot of the incident and seized the rice. He later handed over the lorry along with the driver to VRO. While the VRO was rushing the lorry along with the ration rice, he was thrown out from the lorry and the driver ran away in the lorry. More details are awaited.
