Venkaiah counters KCR over press freedom

Venkaiah Naidu, the Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, on Wednesday countered KCR and said that it was not fair to curb the press freedom. Further, he sermonised that if at all some media institutions misuse the freedom, the same should be dealt legally in accordance to the law of the state. If it exceeds the limit, press council should be approached, added Venkaiah Naidu. Further, Naidu said that the leaders in government should have patience and would survive only if a suitable place was given to the opposition parties. It was in response to the Tuesday’s statement given by KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the matter concerning the media ban.

From the other end, a team led by Singapore reps have called on Venkaiah Naidu in Delhi. Proposals were submitted by the team for the setting up of the Smart Cities in Andhra Pradesh as well as in and around Hyderabad in Telangana.
