Vijayawada: Lok Satta Party national president Jayaprakash Narayan, on Sunday, cautioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu against extravagance and financial improvidence.

Speaking to the media, after the LSP AP unit general body meeting here, JP questioned the actions of the TDP government in spending huge sums of money for renovation of buildings in Hyderabad. The Andhra Pradesh State was facing huge revenue deficit but the government went on spending spree for renovation of buildings. He referred to the reports that as much as Rs 30 crore was being spent for renovation of the chamber meant for the Chief Minister. He also wondered why as much as Rs 30 crore was spent for swearing-in-ceremony.

The LSP demanded that greater powers be delegated to the civic and local bodies.

JP announced that he was stepping down as LSP national president. Elections for office-bearers of the party would be held shortly, he said.
