Vijayawada: Urban Development minister M Venkaih Naidu said on Tuesday that the 5.7 per cent economic growth is the result of 100 days of good governance of the NDA government.
Addressing party workers at Andhra Pradesh unit of BJP State council here this morning Naidu said, "the process of quick decision-making by the NDA government had led to economic growth.. Need of the hour is 'Modi-fication'." He also said Modi-led NDA government had succeeded in bringing down the inflation to 3.7 per cent.
Naidu said that both Indian and foreign investors now have the confidence to invest in India and finally India would become a hub of investments for the world.
The BJP State council at its meeting on Tuesday urged the Telangana State government not to discriminate against people from Andhra Pradesh, who settled in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.
The council unanimously resolved, appealing to the TS government to provide security to the Andhras living in Telangana. They also cautioned the TS government against creating insecurity among the people from Andhra Pradesh, who settled in the Telangana State. The BJP also condemned the decision of the TS government not to pay fee reimbursement to non-Telangana State students. It criticised the TS government for denying admissions to Andhra students in various educational institutions in Hyderabad, which is to remain as joint capital for both the States for 10 years.
The BJP congratulated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for successfully completing 100 days in power. The party said both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister were doing their best to boost the economy and improve the living standards of the people.
The process of disinvestment initiated by the NDA government at the Centre would soon fetch Rs 43,000 crore to the national exchequer, the political resolution said, and added that 100 per cent foreign direct investment in the defence would make the sector self-sufficient and provide greater employment opportunities for the youth.
The BJP appealed to the State and the Central governments to complete the pending irrigation projects in Andhra Pradesh, including Polavaram, Thotapalli, Velugonda, Galeru-Nagari, Handri-Neeva and Sarvaraya project. The BJP expressed its gratitude to the NDA government and the Prime Minister Modi for transferring the Polavaram submergence mandals to Andhra Pradesh State.
The BJP State president and Visakhapatnam MP, K Haribabu, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, BJP senior leaders V Rama Rao, P V Chalapathi Rao, Ch Ramachandra Reddy, Dr Kamineni Srinivas, G Gangaraju, P Vishnukumar Raju, U V Krishnam Raju, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, A Satyanarayana and others were present at the meeting.
The party flag hoisted on the occasion of the meeting of the State council attracted the attention of delegates. The leaders to their shock found that they were hoisting the flag upside down and stopped it halfway.
Venkaiah fumes as BJP flag hoisted upside down
Vijayawada: A visibly Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu pulled up the BJP workers when the BJP flag was hoisted at the party headquarters here on Tuesday upside down. He shouted at them. Several BJP leaders and workers came to attend the flag hoisting ceremony.
The results of the bye-elections, which were declared on Tuesday, appeared to have put a dampener on the party leader and activists, who participated in the event.
When the media asked Venkaiah Naidu for his comments on the elections results, he said “it is not the right time.”
