Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was pointed out by the Press Council of India, for allegedly not allowing few media channels and newspapers to cover his press meets.

Following the episode of the denial of permission to some news channels and dailies, the Indian Journalists Union filed a complaint with the press council on the matter. It was clarified by the press council that the act is nothing but violating the fundamental rights. The press council said, “The act of the chief minister is violating Article 14 of the Constitution of India.” Also, the council appointed a three member enquiry committee consisting of Rajiv Ranjan Nag, K.Amarnath and Pragnananda Choudhury to look into the matter.
