Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday worshiped the presiding deity Goddess Kanakadurga here. He was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa, Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Palle Raghunadha Reddy, Kollu Ravindra, MPs, Konakalla Narayana Rao and Kesineni Srinivas, city Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Krishna zilla parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha and others.

Later, interacting with the mediapersons atop the Hill, the Chief Minister said the government would soon declare Dasara in Vijayawada as the State festival. He said the government would allocate more funds to develop the temple here as the city would be the capital of the State.

He directed the officials to increase the number of queue lines in the temple to provide darshan for more devotees.

He also instructed the officials to increase free meals to 10,000 devotees a day from the present 5,000 devotees. He asked the officials to start on-line booking of darshan tickets at Kanakadurga temple. District Collector M Raghunandana Rao, city police commissioner A B Venkateswara Rao and others greeted the Chief Minister at the temple on his arrival.
